 note = {This study examines a sample of Japanese loanwords currently used in English with the aim of describing patterns of usage over time and identifying genres in which loanwords are most commonly used.  The study is based on investigation of loanwords in two large corpora: The Corpus of Historical American English (COHA) and The Corpus of Contemporary American English (COCA).  Findings indicate that, with few exceptions, Japanese loanwords are not very frequent in English, though there is a tendency for their frequency to increase over time.},
